Custom Polyclonal Antibody Production Protocols by Brown Research

Polyclonal antibody production in rabbits:          $300.00 per rabbit

Acquisition fee for rabbits:                                 $25.00 per rabbit (minimum of 2 rabbits)

Each protocol will take approximately 72-90-day to complete and can run concurrently.

Example protocol: Two rabbits used in a 72-90-day production protocol =

($25.00 x 2) + ($300.00 x 2) = $650.00 *

*Pricing for polyclonal antibody production includes preimmune serum bleed(s) {approximately 50 ml of serum}, priming injection with antigen in complete Freund’s adjuvant, boosting in incomplete adjuvant, and production bleeds {total volume of serum depends on length of protocol}. Serum can be purified by ammonium sulfate precipitation and dialysis at no additional cost. Most investigators use two or more rabbits because each rabbit may have a different immune response to the antigen employed. The length of the protocol is open-ended and to the discretion of the investigator. (After 90 days of production additional days may be added to the protocol in 30 day blocks for $120.00/2 rabbits) Initial antisera may be tested by the investigator to determine titer, specificity, and affinity. Results of this test may provide information, useful in optimizing the antiserum production protocol. Other services and levels of purification are available.
